HBX Spotlights This Year's Top Handbag Trends in Latest Editorial
While luxury today remains quiet, these bold accessories push consumers to be louder.
In the age of stealth wealth fashion, it’s time that shoppers inch away from the status quo with some kookier styles — and what better way to do so than with a statement-making handbag? In its latest editorial, HBX is spotlighting some of this year’s biggest trends in fashion’s arm candy, pushing textures, colors and patterns toward the bold.
Shot by Jun Tsang with styling from YeEun Kim and Rudolf Li, the sartorial imagery pictures eye-catching handbags paired with androgynous mesh tanks, skirts, cropped tops and baggy pants.
Among those featured, JW Anderson’s Knitted Shopper Tote Bag is an ideal summer selection, with woven knit and crochet detailing. Paired with Heliot Emil’s Harness Top and GmbH’s LATA SS23 Pleather Trousers, it offers a playful punch to an otherwise monotone ensemble. Meanwhile, Maison Margiela’s 5AC Micro plays into the mini-bag trend, pleasantly complementing Blumarine’s mesh logo tank top and KUSIKOHC’s loose-fitted trousers.
Elsewhere, dystopic designer Hyein Seo’s Fringed Leather Bag is a sight to see, becoming “the moment” when paired with Ottolinger’s distressed knit sweater. Lemaire’s Croissant Bag, similarly, elevates a Hyein Seo buttoned shirt and Acne Studios’ draped skirt.
