Frank Lloyd Wright’s Tirranna House has hit the market for $8,000,000 USD.

Located in New Canaan, Connecticut, the 1955 built home is one of the final designs from the late American architect. Resting on 14 areas of land, the estate is a natural wonder – surrounded by luscious greenery and soaring trees, which provide the home with a serene feel. The house receives its name from the Australian Aboriginal word “Tirranna,” which translates to “running waters.” As the property overlooks a waterfall on the Noroton River, the name is quite fitting.

With seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, the house itself comprises 7,000 square feet. So there’s more than enough room to wander. Inside you’ll find that the living spaces are bathed in Cherokee red concrete floors and Philippine mahogany walls. But the abundance of natural light is what makes the selection of natural materials particularly striking – illuminating the deep hues of red, orange and yellow. Other standout features of the home include its range of built-in furniture, interior courtyard and in-ground heated pool.

Take a peak at the home in the gallery above. For more info about Frank Lloyd Wright’s Tirranna House, check out the listing at Coldwell Banker.

In other news, an ultra-rare pink diamond heads to auction and is expected to sell for over $35 million USD.
