As the premiere date for Disney+‘s highly anticipated Samuel L. Jackson series nears, Marvel has released a new trailer, this time teasing the official fight that sets things into motion.

It is evident that the series is set to be featured with an abundance of action-packed sequences. The upcoming spy thriller takes the MCU in a different direction than before. The trailer gives fans a glimpse of the ongoing Skrull refugee crisis and the subsequent escalating war on Earth. Jackson makes his return as Nick Fury, as he returns from space to take on the increasing threat of the rogue Skrulls. The Skrulls continue to take things personal when Fury appears to show lack of progress for re-homing their displaced population.

This series heavily focuses on Fury and his mission. Fans are able to have a greater glimpse at the character’s backstory. Jackson said, “We’re also filling in blanks about Fury’s life that we don’t know. We’re meeting people he knew when he was out there on his own, before there were Avengers or anyone else. I had to figure out some stuff and work out some new things, which I’ve been trying to do for a while. It’s great to have an opportunity to find out who he was and delve into how much of a toll his job actually takes on his personal life.” The series sees Ben Mendelsohn and Cobie Smulders reprise their roles as Talos and Maria Hill. Don Cheadle’s James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross are also slated to appear in the series.

Look out for Secret Invasion premiering on June 21 on Disney+.

In other entertainment news, Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge reality show arrives this November.
