Amsterdam-based label APPLIED ART FORMS has just unveiled its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, traveling to Japan for inspiration.

Founded by Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman, the brand delivers a fresh take on upcycled menswear and constantly debuts vintage-inspired garments handmade to perfection.

For SS23, APPLIED ART FORMS embraces ancient Japanese craftsmanship through selvage denim pulled from its dynamic records. The collection pays tribute to its Asian manufacturers and combines local fabrics with American detailing.

1940s US Navy uniforms are retooled in Japanese cotton, featuring utilitarian zippers and faded army numerals. Oversized menswear dominates the collection, supplying pocketed denim shirting and slouchy bottoms screen printed by the APPLIED ART FORMS team. Military-inspired button-downs boast dated photographs, completing the offering with summer-ready shorts and refurbished padded tote bags.

Take a closer look at APPLIED ART FORMS SS23 collection in the gallery above. The range is available now via the brand’s website and select Dover Street Market locations.
