Nvidia Offers Budget PC Graphics Card With the GeForce RTX 4070
$600 USD provides gaming between HD and 4K.
Despite the end of crypto mining-related price surges, graphics cards have maintained a high price point due to manufacturers chasing benchmarks for new and upcoming video game titles. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang shared a statement noting that $1,200 USD would be the new normal for high-end GPUs during the reveal of its GeForce RTX 4080 and 4090 graphics cards.
Answer calls for a budget option, Nvidia is now gearing up to deliver the GeForce RTX 4070, sitting at a fairly reasonable $600 USD price point. The budget graphics card undoubtedly takes a hit in performance delivering a 1440p resolution, somewhere in between HD and 4K. Though Nvidia claims that the 1440p performance can still be met while supporting ray tracing, DLSS 3, and high frame rates.
“The GeForce RTX 4070 with DLSS 3 is on average 1.7x faster compared to last generation’s RTX 3070 Ti with DLSS 2,” adding, “It is also 20% faster on average in traditional games while reducing average gaming power consumption by 23%.” The GeForce RTX 4070 also stands as the smallest 4000 series graphics card from Nvidia, making it an easy swap for any existing setups.
Priced at $600 USD, the GeForce RTX 4070 will be available via Nvidia and at select retailers starting April 13.
