Gearing up for the warmer weather, Pharrell‘s BBC ICECREAM label is launching a polo capsule. The nostalgic yet popular shirt style of the late ’90s and early 2000s, was made popular in hip-hop culture and with the 50th anniversary of hip-hop this year, it is only fitting to bring the signature style back.
The upcoming polo capsule gives a nod to the ubiquitous fashion piece that took the world by storm in the ’90s. The style was such a hit back then that even Pharrell had some of his most iconic looks with the polo. Quickly adopting the classic collared shirt to his everyday personal style, ICECREAM was also quick to integrate the shirt into its collections in the early 2000s.
Looking back at the era, the brand released variations of pastel striped iterations from ICECREAM. Now, the label is highlighting the nostalgic fashion moment once again, with its own pastel iterations. Arriving in a yellow and green stripe and light millennial pink, the polos also feature BBC’s signature dog motif as the logo on the left chest. The capsule also includes two new pants silhouettes including khaki and denim work pants.
The ICECREAM polo capsule is set to arrive at the BBC NYC and Miami flagship stores and online at BBCICECREAM on April 14. Take a look at the collection above.
