Link Flexes His Ultrahand Ability in Final ‘Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ Trailer
Releasing for Nintendo Switch on May 12.
A final pre-launch trailer is out for Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, offering a preview of the new game’s environments, adventures and opponents, as well as Link’s Ultrahand ability.
Clocking in at almost four minutes, the video begins with Link ascending from the sky via a hang glider. As he hits the ground running, the trailer dives into a montage of different things Link’s Ultrahand can create; in addition to the hang glider, there’s a rocket ship, horse and cart and a weapon that fuses together a sword and shield.
Among the other vehicles that Link can make in Tears of the Kingdom are a boat, tractor, hot air balloon and even a hovercraft. Players will simply have to seek out the parts in order to build their transportation method of choice.
Another key feature previewed in Nintendo’s trailer is the game’s floating sky islands, an unexplored part of the Kingdom of Hyrule. The islands seem to require Link to skillfully jump between smaller, floating pieces of land in order to get from one location to another. That, or the trip will require the aid of his handcrafted hovercraft.
Five years after the release of 2017’s Breath of the Wild, fans are eagerly anticipating the rollout of the franchise’s next installment. Tears of the Kingdom will launch for Nintendo Switch on May 12, priced at $70 USD.
