'Big Mouth' Renewed For Eighth Season To Become Longest-Running Netflix Series
Marking its final season.
Netflix has officially renewed Big Mouth for its eight and final season — becoming the longest-running series in the streamer’s history outside of Kids & Family programming.
The animated coming-of-age series will premiere its last two seasons in 2023 and 2024, after airing season six in October 2022. “If you would have told adolescent Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg that middle school would take 8 years to finish, they would have been like ‘yeah, that sounds about right. This seems like it will never end,’” Nick Kroll, the series co-creator, star and executive producer said in a statement.
“Big Mouth is a towering achievement in animated comedy that will make Netflix history for its longevity,” added Billy Wee, Netflix Director of Adult Animation. “We are thrilled that we still have two more hilarious seasons to share with fans before this brilliant coming of age story reaches its conclusion.”
Big Mouth first aired in September 2017 and was inspired by Kroll and co-creator Andrew Goldberg’s childhood. It follows the two and their group of friends undergoing puberty alongside their “hormone monster,” and features a star-studded cast of John Mulaney, Jessie Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, Ayo Edebiri, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph and Jordan Peele in the main cast.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Kid Cudi will star in the zombie film Hell Naw, which takes place during Paris Fashion Week.
