HBX New York debuted “Behind the Moodboard,” an activation and editorial series spotlighting Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix collection. Returning for its third year, Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix brought together designers Kristopher Kites and Nigeria Ealey to create a fashion capsule inspired by the brand’s Tennessee Honey and Tennessee Apple spirits. Established in 2021, the grant-based initiative aims to support and spotlight the next generation of streetwear designers, signifying the brand’s commitment to arts and culture. 100% of the featured designers’ sales from this collection will be matched by Jack Daniel’s, up to $100,000 to fund the work of this year’s grant winners, Rupal, Andre and Rylie.

“Behind the Moodboard” captures their collaborative exchange through a series of vignette-style moodboards, spotlighting behind-the-scenes footage of Nigeria Ealey and Kristopher Kites‘ creative workspaces, sketches and original storyboards. Both artists looked to capture the sweet, warming taste of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey and Tennessee Apple spirits in a wearable format. Glass displays on the floor housed pieces from the collection, including Ealey’s monochromatic jacket and jogger set and Kite’s lucite link chain, introduced alongside glass installations featuring candid photography, color boards and mixed materials used to co-create the capsule.

The night kicked off with a live set performed by NYC native DJ Spinelli. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres as they interacted with the gallery-inspired walkthrough. A custom bar embodying the brand’s rustic aesthetic dominated the first floor, serving refreshing cocktails incorporating Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey and Tennessee Apple spirits in summer-inspired recipes. Ealey and Kites were in attendance, along with notable appearances from New York-based photographer Clutch Boogie and local creatives within the fashion and marketing space.

Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix collection is exclusively available on TIER’s website, as well as Kristopher Kites’ website. Learn more about the Classic Remix collection by visiting Jack Daniel’s website, and read more about “Behind the Moodboard” here.
