Coming off its menswear debut earlier this year, Amsterdam-based label Colourful Rebel returns with new coordinating pieces, supplementing its vibrant and easy-to-wear Spring/Summer 2023 collection.

As with its initial menswear drop, the latest garments come inspired by founders’ Bas and Frank van de Brug’s own wardrobe dilemmas. “When we couldn’t go abroad, being locked down in Amsterdam wasn’t the worst of options,” says Frank. “We started exploring and kind of never stopped, tapping into what you would wear during a hot summer in the city.”

With lightweight materials such as 180gsm cotton and thin jerseys adorning the range, Colourful Rebel crafts a range of boxy silhouette sets that boast ultimate breathability as well as style versatility. Staying attuned to its wider SS23 collection, staple summer shorts are paired with a range of sweatshirts, T-shirts and short-sleeved shirts that are printed in this season’s fresh color palette of blues, pinks and green as well as graphic patterns.

With common bouts of rain during summer in the city, jackets are also given a large focus in the collection. A camouflaged raincoat with a hood and concealed pockets matched with nylon shorts proposes a stand-out pairing amongst the pieces, proving that style can be maintained even when throwing a jacket on.
