Nike’s Air Max Plus OG “Hyper Blue” is set to return next year, being last seen in 2018 during the Swoosh’s celebrations of the silhouette’s 20th anniversary.

The sneaker was originally launched in 1998 by Sean McDowell, quickly becoming one of Nike’s most popular silhouettes that still to this day, stands as a constant canvas for experimentation and collaboration.

Over the years, the sneaker has welcomed some vibrant colorways, such as the “University Red,” “Unity,” and “Social F.C.” iterations, while adaptations under the brand’s Terrascape umbrella have allowed the shoe to become a more technically-inclined sneaker that is more suited to outdoor exploration.

Now, this revitalized version of the classic “Hyper Blue” colorway features the iconic combination of black, “Chamois,” “Sky Blue,” and “Hyper Blue” hues, while the shoe is also hit with a “Hyper Blue” mesh upper with black wavy TPU overlays. Meanwhile, the shoe is also designed with an elasticated lacing system — this supplies a more adaptive fit — and padded tongues for increased comfort.

Suede and leather details are applied to the mudguard and heel counter and this sits atop a classic Air Max unit in the midsole. Rounding off the design, 3M reflective detailing is added to the tongues alongside customary TN branding.

You can take a closer look at the Air Max Plus OG “Hyper Blue” above and it will be available to purchase via the official Nike website and with select retailers from Spring 2024.
