Mr. Bailey Previews Another adidas Originals "OZLUCENT" Sneaker Concept
Opting for a minimalist approach.
Following the release of collaborative adidas Originals “OZLUCENT” and “OZMORPHIS” sneakers, independent product designer and CONCEPTKICKS founder Mr. Bailey now share a look at another footwear silhouette from the series.
The design cues of the “OZLUCENT” were inspired by the three phases of a sea creature’s lifecycle with the heel referencing the plant-like Polyps embedded on the ocean floor, cage-like midsection representing an Ephyra which eventually breaks off to metamorphose into an infant jellyfish, and the Medusa, it’s final form partially represented by soft elastic sock collars. Channeling the lifecycle of the Aurelia Aurita jellyfish, “OZMORPHIS” follows similar design cues while taking it a step further with the addition of a mesh veil.
The latest sneaker from the series revealed by Mr. Bailey takes the silhouette back to its infancy, removing the cage for simple wetsuit-like neoprene uppers with a zip closure. The thick arched midsoles are kept in place without additional attachments.
