On the surface, West Coast creative Jon Buscemi and OG golf brand FootJoy may not seem like they have a lot in common. The former is known for elevating street-style footwear silhouettes, while the latter brings athletic performance to styles traditionally associated with menswear. However, dig a bit deeper and you start to see some common ground, like a meticulous attention to detail and an admiration for nostalgia.

With those commonalities in mind, the two have teamed up once again for a fresh take on the FJ Premiere Series, but this time working with two new models to honor next week’s THE PLAYERS Championship.

Up top, the shoes are constructed with a rich, off-white Pittards leather. The derby style Field is arranged with simple clean lines and an open facing, while the Wilcox shows off its oxford like cap toes, perforations and traditional saddle sections. With those basics established, Buscemi adds references to PLAYERS Championship heritage with metallic gold accents. These are found on the FJ logos, metal heel caps, speckled midsoles and Pulsar Softspikes cleats. Rounding out the unique detailing are custom insoles with “FJ by Jon Buscemi” branding.

With performance features customary to the Premiere Series line like a VersaTrax+ outsole and laser fit heel, look for the Field and Wilcox to drop on FootJoy’s website on March 9, the opening day of THE PLAYERS.

Elsewhere, adidas outfits the Stan Smith with references to Hello Kitty.
