Praying Teases Upcoming Collaboration With Death Grips
Ahead of the experimental hip-hop group’s North American tour.
Ahead of Death Grips‘ North American tour, Praying recently teased an upcoming collaboration with the experimental hip-hop group. Taking to Instagram, Praying shared an obscured image of Death Grips’ 2011 album Paramilitary overlayed with text that reads, “Praying for DEATH GRIPS.” The accompanying caption, “What if we…? 🚹 Praying X Deathgrips coming soon,” furthers the tease and shares that a release should be arriving in the coming weeks.
The upcoming collaboration follows Praying’s unexpected team-up with adidas, which resulted in an adidas Supernova Cushion 7 release. The Los Angeles/New York label is known for its irreverent post-Internet aesthetic, drawing from elements of fast fashion, pop-culture, with underlying tones of religion, and dogma.
Announced back in December, Death Grips is set to deliver its challenging music in a series of live shows throughout North America. The tour starts May 4 at Revolution Hall in Portland, Oregon, after a two-week run on the West Coast, the group heads east in mid-September, performing at events such as Riot Fest.
