Coca-Cola's Latest Commercial Animates Art Masterpieces
From Warhol to Vermeer.
Coca-Cola has long been known for its creative advertisements throughout the years whether through print or commercials. Some of the most memorable over the years include a “Taste The Feeling” music video with Avicii and a “Catch” spot featuring the NE_BEAR polar bear.
The latest “Masterpiece” commercial follows an art student who heads to the art museum with his class in search of inspiration. As he dozes off, a classic glass coke bottle is seen passing through the frames of a number of iconic paintings in the museum, which in reality, are housed in different locations around the world. The journey ventures into different stylistic universes and eras — from Artemision Bronze dated 460 B.C. to contemporary works such as Divine Idyll (2022), which began the entire journey by reaching over to grab Andy Warhol‘s Large Coca-Cola. The video ends with Johannes Vermeer‘s Girl with a Pearl Earring winking at the student who’s been raised from his daze thanks to a bottle of coke.
“See what happens when the whole universe comes together in Real Magic ways to help a boy in need of uplift and a little inspiration,” Coca-Cola writes in the description.
