The Hans Kristjansson-founded outerwear label 66°North is built for Icelandic trawls, so rest assured that its Spring 2023 collection will keep you comfortable in and around the city.
This season, the Creative Director Kei Toyoshima offers layer-able essentials, ranging from down jackets to GORE-TEX-padded coats, technical shearling to thermally-insulated pants and accessories, all ensuring a warm, cozy feeling. And while a number of pieces make an appearance in new colors or treatments, its the addition of techwear pieces that are Spring 2023’s star of the show.
With a blue and black zip-neck balaclava sweater, one model shows the grey tech “Skaftafell” jacket and pants, matching in form and function as the added GORE-TEX is there to battle the elements in the streets or the mountains. Cuts are clean and minimal, with concealed zips and seams keeping up the neat-and-tidy aesthetic.
Elsewhere, full-body bibs (read dungarees) echo the “Skaftafell” ensemble’s utilitarian attitude, while the “Straumnes” jacket in a vivid shade of red looks fit for ski runs or jogging in your local park, as it fits snug to the body. 66°North has kept Iceland warm since 1926, and now you can get a load of it too, courtesy of HBX, where 66°North is available to shop.
