Tom Dixon Reveals "PORTABLE" Light Series
Inspired by his signature MELT, BELL and STONE designs.
Self-taught British designer Tom Dixon is expanding his light fixture catalog with a new PORTABLE light series.
Furthering his zeal for eye-catching yet contemporary creations, the new series is inspired by his signature MELT, BELL and STONE designs. The abstractly curved nature of the MELT light and the dome designs of the BELL have already been enchanting additions to any home. But the new series from Dixon will allow these designs to go just a step further. Additionally, the three light designs come in shades of gold, silver, copper and black.
“If there is one thing that characterizes the rapidly changing world that we inhabit, it is mobility – the way we live and work and play is dominated by an increased need for portability and flexibility,” said Dixon. “No longer do we want to be tethered to a fixed desk or power outlet, so increasingly we want our light to move with us … and it’s for this reason we have loved working on a new series of expressive rechargeable occasional lighting! Our new lights can be used indoors or outdoors, on a shelf, desk, bench or wherever you want to place it.”
Tom Dixon’s PORTABLE light series is set to launch at Salone del Mobile in Milan from April 18-23.
