D4VD Debuts New Ballad "Placebo Effect"
As he prepares for his debut headlining tour.
To prevent copyright strikes on his gaming YouTube channel, David Anthony Burke, who goes by d4vd, decided to record his own music from his sister’s closet on BandLab. Encouraged after his first releases began being used by others in their gaming montages, he created the viral breakthrough track “Romantic Homicide” which was later rereleased through Darkroom and Interscope, peaking at #1 on Spotify’s US Viral Charts.
Having shifted his focus from gaming to music, finding further success with popular tracks such as “Here With Me” and “You and I,” the 17-year-old artist now releases his new single “Placebo Effect” and announces additional stops on his debut headline tour in Paris and Toronto. Echoing the somber and dreamy undertones of his past releases, d4vd’s new ballad speaks on his experience of unrequited love as he realizes what he’s been feeling all along was just a placebo effect.
d4vd begins his headline run on February 17 at White Oak Music Hall on February 17. Full dates can be found below.
Feb 17 – White Oak Music Hall (upstairs) – Houston, TX
Feb 21 – The Echo – Los Angeles, CA
Feb 28 – The Lower Third – London, UK
March 1 – Point Éphémère – Paris, FR
March 3 – Baby’s All Right – New York, NY
