Lanvin Pre-Fall 2024 Is a Fresh Look at Classic Style Codes

Serving as a reminder of its chic foundation.

Serving as the oldest French luxury fashion still in operation, Lanvin has a long-standing commitment to classic elegance. However, like many houses in the luxury space, its identity has evolved within previous years in light of luxury’s proliferation of street-leaning styles and contemporary charm. However, the house is getting back to some of its core values with the reveal of its Pre-Fall 2024 collection.

With the departure of its previous creative director, Bruno Sialelli, earlier this year, the brand has been in a slight creative flux. But the current lack of a permanent creative director forces the brand to look back into why Lanvin has been heralded as a luxury brand to begin with. The introspection led to a new pre-season collection that reminds the world of Lanvin’s commitment to classic style codes.

Inside the lookbook, one will find the vision of a Lanvin woman and man dressed in unputdownable staples that aptly blend timeless tales with a touch of contemporary chic. The silhouettes are not anything revolutionarily new, but that’s what makes it good. It pines for wearable charm and not quick virality. The sweet spots are seen in the collection’s play with proportion across wool outerwear, knitwear and suiting alongside the selection of sweetly saturated colors.

“Lanvin cannot be the house that disappeared,” Deputy General Manager, Siddhartha Shukla told Vogue Runway. “It’s a very different mentality from a big group, but we’re bringing this house back by treating it like a start-up. Jeanne Lanvin was always looking for the ultimate French chic. So, what does the modernized version of her recipe look like? We owe her justice on that.”
