‘Kaiju No. 8' Will Release in Spring 2024
Revealing additional voice cast.
Over the weekend at the Jump Festa’ 24 event, TOHO Animation shared the latest promotional trailer for Kaiju No. 8, the upcoming TV anime based on Naoya Matsumoto‘s shonen manga.
Spanning 87 seconds in length, the trailer provides a glimpse into the life of its protagonist, Kafka Hibino — an average worker at a professional cleaning company that specializes in the battle aftermath of Kaiju monsters. The seemingly mundane tone then quickly cuts to snappy action shots that depict the horrors of the monsters, and the effects it had on the city the character resides in. The video abruptly switches its tone when a mysterious insect invades Hibino’s body, turning the protagonist into a hybrid monster.
Additional cast members have also been revealed for the newly-teased characters. 16-year-old Kikoru Shinomiya is voiced by Fairouz Ai, who’s best known for her portrayal of Jolyne Cujoh from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. Kengo Kawanishi, who previously voiced Muichiro Tokito from Demon Slayer‘s Swordsmith Village Arc will play Soshiro Hoshino, the vice-caption of the Third Division
