Black History Month-themed sneakers have long been a key part of the late, great Kobe Bryant‘s signature line with Nike, and their number will expand again in 2024, as a new Kobe 6 Protro “BHM” should be releasing in February. A leak from Instagram account @xcsnkr has revealed a first look at the style, which features a crisp white-and-gold color scheme that’s embellished with a handful of special details.

Though it’s hard to tell exactly where on the shoe it’s placed (sneaker leakers have never been known for clear imagery), there’s a golden BHM hit present on the design, as well as a golden “Be Legendary” text graphic that looks to be placed on the inside of the collar. A gold iteration of Kobe’s Kill Bill inspired “sheath” logo and golden Swooshes round off the look. From a performance standpoint, the Kobe 6 Protro upgrades on the regular Kobe 6 with a 50-percent-larger Zoom Air Turbo bag in the forefoot, upgraded heel foam and increased surface area on its outsole traction pattern.

An exact release date for these new Kobe kicks has yet to be revealed — and the 2023 iteration of the Kobe 6 Protro “BHM” unfortunately never saw a retail release — but if they do drop it’ll likely be in February 2024. Keep it locked to Hypebeast for more info in the meantime.
