LEGO Superfan Designs Playable DJM 900 Nexus Mixing Board
Modeled off of Pioneer’s standard audio mixer.
LEGO superfan Tomasso has been chronicling his ambitious builds online. Earlier this month, he unveiled his submission to the LEGO Ideas competition: a replica of the Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus consisting of 2,628 individual pieces. The model was designed to look as similar to the original as possible, and it was quite successful at doing so.
The builder has now followed up with an even more impressive project, a build of the Pioneer DJM 900 Nexus. That club-standard model is a comparably larger, rectangular audio mixer.
The LEGO version of the Nexus is also built to be playable. For starters, the volume indicators will appear and disappear as the master knob is turned and the faders slid up and down. The crossfader can also be slid from side to side.
When a user turns the effects knob, meanwhile, they can select from one of four original effects, which will then show up on the board’s LED panel.
