The BFC's 2023 NEW WAVE Initiative Highlights Backstage Creative Talent
Releasing a list of 50 genre-defining innovators across makeup, photography, styling, and more.
The British Fashion Council is a force for good, constantly championing emerging and established talent nationwide. From NEWGEN to the Fashion Awards, the BFC is preparing to reveal its latest initiative, compiling a list of young trailblazers taking over creative industries.
The BFC’s 2023 NEW WAVE list is spread across digital artists, image directors, casting specialists, photographers, art directors, and more. The 50 spotlighted names significantly shape British fashion backstage, selected by an exclusive panel of industry insiders, including London-based designer Feng Chen Wang and A-COLD-WALL* founder Samuel Ross. The recipients will be honored at this year’s Fashion Awards on December 4 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Speaking on its impact, BFC Chief Executive, Caroline Rush, said:
“NEW WAVE: Creatives provide the industry with an important opportunity to recognize and celebrate the diverse talent who play a crucial role, often behind the scenes, across the fashion industry. This year’s cohort is an incredible group of emerging artists whose innovative skills represent the future of creativity within fashion. I look forward to celebrating their impact on the industry this December and am excited to watch their careers grow over the coming years.”
