Aimé Leon Dore Honors NYC’s Masaryk Community Gym in New Balance 550/650 Capsule
Unveiling four new styles.
Queens-based label Aimé Leon Dore is honoring its hometown in its latest release. Across a range of New Balance 550s and 650s, ALD is revamping the signature model yet again, this time to pay tribute to the local Lower East Side communal hub, The Masaryk Community Gym.
“Each borough has its own personality and its own approach to the game [of basketball],” ALD shared in an Instagram post, unveiling the latest “International Friendship Through Basketball” offering, which honors the role all five boroughs played in the sport. Each pair sees a clean muted leather upper that also plays with mesh, including the sporty fabric around the upper’s New Balance “N” logo, and along the shoe’s heels. The low tops each see a slightly yellowed effect across its gold/navy and green colorways, while the hightops boast a crisp white silhouette, also available in either the gold/navy colorway or the forest green.
