After they were spotted on the feet of CLOT founder Edison Chen, we now get a closer look at the upcoming CLOT x Nike Cortez as early pairs are sent to friends and family.

As shown in the original photos, the upcoming pairs are equipped with a removable sleeve, similar to that of UGG’s boot guards, which are connected to independent serrated sole units. The black elastic sleeve is loosened and tightened via a pull cord attachment on the heel which features a yin-yang lace toggle.

Once the sleeve is removed, underneath is a fully-functional pair of black-and-white Nike Cortez with thin, flat, and grippy bottoms echoing the design of typical kung fu shoes. Uppers are finished in smooth white leather, Chinese calligraphy spelling kung fu is embroidered on the heel, and the CLOT logo is displayed on the tongue tabs. The unique design allows for the sneakers to be worn all together, with the inside Cortez-like pairs only, or with the outside sleeve independently as Old Beijing-style slip-ons.

The CLOT x Nike Cortez pairs are set to release in Spring 2023 for $150 USD. In addition to the “Black/White” colorway shown above, “Black Varsity Maize” and “Forrest Gump” colorways are also reportedly set to arrive as part of the lineup.
