Helmut Lang and UNIQLO Reconnect for Classic Cut Jeans
’90s minimalist uniform.

Having established a relationship that stretches back to Fall/Winter 2014, in which Helmut Lang‘s then-creative director, Alexandre Plokohov worked with Japanese apparel giant UNIQLO on an array of comfortable sweats, the duo now reconnect for a limited capsule revisiting Helmut Lang’s Classic Cut Jeans.
The “HELMUT LANG JEANS” label was first introduced in the Spring/Summer 1997 collection taking inspiration from vintage Levi’s. The “Classic Cut” iteration in particular is done in a minimalist style reflecting the Austrian-born label’s mission of delivering “simultaneously clean and complex” uniform. Upcoming pairs in collaboration with UNIQLO are designed to be unisex and worn comfortably by all ages. Stitching, buttons, and rivets are done up in complimentary hues for a crisp monochrome look and fabrics consist of recycled organic cotton and sewing threads made from recycled materials. Color options include white, dark grey, and dark indigo.
The new UNIQLO x Helmut Lang pieces will be available online on September 26, and at select locations, including UNIQLO’s NYC 5th Avenue and SOHO, on October 27.
