Audemars Piguet has opened its first-ever luxury hotel in the Swiss Village of Le Brassus, aptly named the Hôtel des Horlogers. Previously known as Hôtel de France, which opened in 1857, AP reimagines the space with the help of Bjarke Ingels Groupe (BIG) and Swiss design firm, CCHE.

Featuring a zigzagging exterior design featuring layers of long ramps, Hôtel des Horlogers was designed to integrate with the smooth topography of the Vallée de Joux, known as the birthplace of Swiss horology and the home to four Ski resorts. Interiors were designed with sustainability in mind and inspired by the hotel’s natural surroundings, using locally sourced wood and stone, with every room incorporating warm, welcoming decor and promising stellar views of the Risoud forest.

Chief among the new additions to the hotel are two new restaurants and a bar led by the three-Michelin-star French chef Emmanuel Renaut. Renovations took four years to complete and interiors were designed in partnership with French firm AUM Pierre Minassian.

The 50-room hideaway is situated next to AP’s main headquarters, Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture, and the Musee Atelier Audemars Piguet, allowing guests to easily explore the legacy watchmakers through several curated packages while enjoying their stay.
