With skeletonized movement, reworked case and custom ceramic bezel.
Custom workshop Artisans de Geneve has transformed a Rolex GMT-Master II for a client, skeletonizing its movement and creating a personalised world timer-style bezel.
The Genevan firm’s World Traveler features a skeletonized and refinished the original 3186 movement with polished, bevelled, brushed and sandblasted finishes, pairing it with a 24K rose gold winding rotor and clear sapphire crystal dial to reveal the work.
A solid midnight blue ceramic replacement bezel has been created and is inscribed with 24 cities specified by the client.
The addition of a fixed, 24-hour chapter ring alongside existing rotating bezel and GMT hand, as well as regular home time hour and minute hands mean the watch can keep track of three distinct timezones.
The lugs of the donor stainless steel case have also been recessed and frosted, while the edges have been bevelled.
