Noah Baumbach’s forthcoming satire White Noise has received its release dates.

Based on the novel White Noise by Don DeLillo, the new movie stars Don Cheadle, Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig alongside costars André Benjamin a.k.a. André 3000, Jodie Turner-Smith, Sam Gold, Barbara Sukowa and more. The film details the life of a celebrated professor named Jack Gladney (Adam Driver) and the subsequent events that follow when a chemical spill occurs in his hometown. Alongside this, the story grapples with the reality of everyday life and uncertainty.

“I read Don DeLillo’s novel in college in the late 1980s, and it felt like now, or the now of then. It captured perfectly the absurdity, horror and madness of America at that time,” said Baumbach in a release. “I reread it again in the early months of 2020 and it felt like now. But the now of now. A few weeks later, the world shut down. I set to adapting the book because I wanted to make a movie that felt as crazy as the world appeared to me. It’s a portrait of a country but it’s also a story of a family, of the chaos they try to hide, of the disasters that befall them, of the way they come together and survive.”

Prior works from Noah Baumbach include Marriage Story, The Meyerowitz Stories, While We’re Young, The Squid and the Whale and more. Made for Netflix, White Noise is set to release in select theaters on November 25 before hitting the streaming service on December 30.

In related news, Netflix commemorates its 25th anniversary with a nostalgic video reel.
