Nike's Air Huarache "Resin" Makes a Return
Straight from 1991.
A staple in Nike’s lifestyle division, the Air Huarache has a storied history with the Swoosh. Introduced in 1991 by legendary designer Tinker Hatfield, the Air Huarache was positioned as a running model with its lightweight build. Now, Nike has tapped into these roots by reintroducing the original “Resin” colorway that helped launch the sneaker over thirty years ago.
Signature to the Air Huarache, a neoprene upper provides a snug fit from the shoe’s first wear. In “Resin,” this neoprene portion is outfitted by white, gold and emerald green. White leather overlays add texture to this pair in combination with a white midsole that sits on a black rubber outsole. Black further contrasts the look on the Air Huarache tongue badge and iconic heel cage where it combines with a blue that carries tonal “NIKE” branding. Rounding out this throwback pair is an emerald green sockliner with a gold Nike International logo.
For those looking to pick up this classic colorway, Nike has not yet shared a release date. However, expect it to hit shelves via the Swoosh and select retailers in the coming months at an estimated retail price of $120 USD.
Elsewhere in footwear, Nike is also bringing back the Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet” for 2022.
