Kanye Reveals YEEZY Gap Sold $14 Million USD Worth of "The Perfect Black Hoodie"
The hoodies were sold for $80 USD.
Amidst news of Gap CEO Sonia Syngal stepping down and word of the company’s struggles with supply chain challenges and slumping sales, Kanye West revealed some promising news regarding his YEEZY Gap partnership. Taking to Instagram, the artist and designer touched on how the collaborative relationship came to be and its accomplishments in its short time.
Sharing a screenshot of Gap Executive Chairman Bob L. Martin, Ye revealed how he first spoke to Bob, Bob Fisher and other Gap heads on his mother’s birthday. Going on to say that the reason why he partnered with Gap was to “put good product directly in stores.” Noting how YEEZY Gap has brought two of the biggest sales days in Gap history, highlighting how they sold $14 million USD of the “Perfect Black Hoodie” at $80 USD and ran a television commercial just once.
Ye ended off his post by simply asking to speak to Bob Martin, “Bob I need to meet with you as soon as possible.”
