Hideo Kojima‘s next game will be published by Xbox Game Studios.

The video game designer confirmed the news during the 2022 Microsoft Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, stating that the upcoming title is a game he has “always wanted to make.” Specific details of the project were not revealed, but Kojima did promise that it will be one that “no one has ever experienced or seen before,” and that thanks to Microsoft’s cloud technology, he is finally able to start creating it. The “never-before-seen concept” will take a while though, so fans will have to sit tight.

Just last week, freelance reporter Tom Henderson shared that the upcoming Kojima Productions game will be a horror project with the title Overdose — a first and third-person game starring Margaret Qualley. Henderson adds that the footage supposedly sent to him features a character with Qualley’s likeness sporting a blue dress and walking through a dark corridor with a flash light. A jump scare ensues followed by the texts “Game Over” and “A Hideo Kojima Game…Overdose.”

Watch the announcement below and stay tuned for more info on the upcoming game.

Elsewhere in gaming, a new God of War: Ragnarok leak suggests a 2022 release.
