Watch the Gameplay Demo for 'STRAY'
Revealing the cat’s abilities.
Following the release of a gameplay trailer earlier this month, STRAY now receives a new demo walkthrough video courtesy of IGN. The upcoming Playstation game follows a stray cat who must untangle an ancient mystery in order to find its way home.
Roaming around an abandoned cyberpunk city in third person, the cat is aided by a drone companion that translates dialogue with robot residents, stores memories and items, and more. The new demo video reveals gameplay interactions including a dedicated meow button, puzzle-solving quests tied to expected cat behaviors, catnaps in designated spots and the ability to scratch at surfaces like rugs and couches. The game won’t be free-to-roam, but players will often be able to choose multiple paths and move via prompts.
“I’m most intrigued by the impressive world on display and the many surprising ways BlueTwelve has made playing as a cat so fun,” said IGN reviewer Jonathon Dornbush.
Take a look at the gameplay demo video above and look for STRAY to land on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC on July 19.
Elsewhere in gaming, Skate 4 will reportedly be revealed in July.
