Pierre-Louis Mascia's SS23 Collection "Vizir" Combines Colors, Collaborations and Cultures
Presenting the Toulouse-based designer’s collaboration with Diadora.

Pierre-Louis Mascia is one of the most colorful designers to come out of France, with his eponymous label focused on delivering “Unpredictable Classics” season after season. Spring/Summer 2023 is no exception, as the designer’s “Vizir” collection combines inspiration from the world of sport with Mascia’s love for color clashes, his former profession as an illustrator, and a collaboration to boot.
“Vizir” is centered around the collaborative Diadora sneaker. It’s a new style that has been covered in the designer’s quintessential aesthetic, simultaneously launching the pair before it comes out en masse. Here, Mascia combines leather, canvas and a thick wale corduroy for a multi-textured look, which is only enhanced by the combination of colors that range from white on the toe box to black on the heel, blush pink and red on the mid-panel (found in a traditional ikat technique) and the blue on the outsole.
This is echoed throughout the “Vizir” collection, which is described as being influenced by a “Persian world where culture and the art of living are sophisticated and refined, the ideal meeting of visual art and dynamism. Inspired by a concept of 1950s elegance, in particular by two icons such as Fred Astaire and Yma Sumac, ‘Vizir’ embodies an idealized vision of sportswear, where elegance and creativity meet comfort and technique.”
Pierre-Louis Mascia presents a windbreaker hoodie in waterproof silk, a tennis tracksuit comprising a zip jacket and jogger pants, T-shirts, shorts and leggings, as well as a 140×140 silk yoke and a bucket hat that all complement the Diadora sneakers.
