Stampd’s Pre-Fall 2022 Collection Pays Homage to Modern Angelenos
Minimalist essentials highlight LA’s proximity to nature.
The Californian climate is predictable to natives. Sunny afternoons give way to breezy nights under the open sky. Stampd’s Pre-Fall 2022 collection introduces minimalist styles that ease the transition from day to night, including an assortment of button-downs, hoodies, crewnecks and bottoms with textural graphics. Chris Stamp‘s homage to the City of Angels retains the brand’s monochromatic theme with mural-style art and waterside prints.
When conceptualizing surf apparel for the modern Angeleno, Chris Stamp revisited closet staples that easily pair with cold-weather outerwear. The Pre-Fall collection taps into Stamp’s relationship with graphic design and references graffiti-style murals embedded in the city’s DNA. The range presents the “Traveler’s Set” — Stamp’s take on the capsule wardrobe — comprised of the Perfect Travel Pant, a four-piece long-sleeve and hoodie Fleece set and a standalone Tech Fleece Trucker Jacket. The following T-shirts, crewnecks, tanks and joggers build out head-to-toe fits, meticulously designed for seamless layering.
Since cold weather in LA is still decidedly pleasant, the Pre-Fall collection leans into surf culture through a minimalist lens, and each silhouette highlights the city’s access to nature. Select pieces feature soft-washed murals depicting angels falling from the sky and a waterside motif accented with stylized lettering reading, “Somewhere in Paradise.” The Trucker Jacket is made entirely of a breathable technical fleece, and the brand’s signature Berlin Pant is a slim straight cut that pairs nicely with the oversize button-down, loosely tucked in for a casual look.
