Contemporary Menswear Label SAALECTION Presents Suave Silhouettes for FW22
Using film noir to produce a seductive, yet sophisticated offering.

Emerging contemporary menswear label SAALECTION has a vision beyond the status quo. Founded in 2020 by Salman Al Khalifa and Christine Chau, the London-based label champions the fluidity of masculinity as a means to create evolving silhouettes. For the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection the mission of presenting clean iterations of unorthodox remains the same.
Titled “ODYSSEY,” the latest collection is inspired by elements of film noir and positions the story of a protagonist/undercover agent. By looking at the seductive, yet charming demeanor of this character, the collection centers on a design cadence that balances the suave and classic. Staple looks update tailored pieces like blazers and overcoats with angular hems, asymmetrical constructions and subtle contrasting stitch detailing. The attention to seductively sophisticated structures carries on to trousers whose standout feature includes layered wrap detailing.
What further brings the collection to life is the brand’s signature caramel, indigo, wine red, sky blue and black color palette. Another standout is sleeveless single-button high-low overcoats that bridge sensuality and sophistication. Rounding out the collection are two-toned turtlenecks, elongated knitwear and tank tops. Beyond its evolution of menswear silhouettes, the collection showcases a commitment to craftmanship by employing fabrics from mills used at Savile Row.
