Nike Nods to Italy With Its Latest Air Max 97
The latest installment is seen repping the Italian flag for pull tabs.

Following the announcement of Nike’s Air Max 97 “Gold Bullet” and its re-release, the sportswear giant is fashioning another colorway in appreciation for Italy. While the golden iteration is stirring up excitement across the globe, the “Silver Bullet” edition is what really brought the silhouette back to life thanks to the land of pasta and Vespas — garnering the nickname “Le Silver.”
Designed by Christian Tresser, the current installment is structured in a bronze sheen upper with its classic waves of leather overlays set over a mesh base coinciding with the tongue. A strip of white adds division to the shoe while Swooshes are fashioned in a vibrant red hue. In a salute to the nation, the tongue and heel pull tabs follow the colors of the Italian flag. Dark Taupe is found throughout the design from the sockliner to the tongue tab and rubber outsole. An off-white midsole sits atop the red Air unit to round out the look.
Keep an eye out for the Nike Air Max 97 “Italy” to release within the year at select retailers and via Nike’s website.
