Montreal-based fashion label DOMREBEL utilizes original fine art to create eye-catching garments for its Fall-Winter 2022 collection. Title “Mad World”, the lineup displays the brand’s signature cartoon characters in bizarre stories that are displayed on complex fabrics like woven-jacquard textiles, wool intarsias and more. The new range updates casual looks in finer materials and a louche silhouette, with artful graphics throughout.

The artworks are created in the brand’s art studio in Montréal, and include aesthetics that are abstract and expressionist renderings of cartoons. The energetic sketches pull from animation references and are featured throughout the FW22 collection, and show up on embroidered sweats, printed silks and frayed canvas patches.

The mixed-media fine arts pieces address complex emotions such as anxiety, imposter syndrome and inner struggle, all stories that take place in the “the good, the bad and the bizarre world we live in”. Through the brand’s easy-to-digest cartoon-world perspective, the new DOMREBEL collection presents a highly energetic and fun ride through the human psyche.

DOMREBEL’s Fall-Winter 2022 collection features two deliveries, the first of which is now available on its website. Worldwide stockists such as Harrods, Lane Crawford, Selfridges, Neiman Marcus, Aishti, Tsum, Beymen, Harvey Nichols, L’Eclaireur and Farfetch will also carry the pieces. From June 21 through 28, DOMREBEL will also present its collection at Paris Fashion Week at a dedicated showroom.
