AFEW and ASICS Aim to Raise Mental Health Awareness With the "Uplifting Pack"
Donating 10% of proceeds to the Deutsche Depressions Hilfe.
Following up on recent projects such as the “Beauty of Imperfection” and “Orange Koi” capsules, ASICS and German retailer AFEW reunite in support of mental health awareness. Named the “Uplifting Pack,” the ASICS GT-II is found in two different colorways that carry thematic detailing. When exploring the concept of raising awareness about depression and mental illness, AFEW connected with friends and family to explore personal connections. Beyond drawing from this feedback in the pack’s design, 10% of the proceeds are to be donated to the Deutsche Depressions Hilfe.
The 1980s inspired ASICS GT-II features signature GEL technology cushioning alongside a padded heel collar. Colorway options for this release begin with one in various shades of gray and the other carrying brown and salmon colors. Emphasizing the mental health theme, brain graphics are used at the outsole, sockliner and heel counter. Additionally, these graphics feature on the special box made for this pack.
The launch of the AFEW x ASICS “Uplifting Pack” takes place June 17 via ASICS and select retailers at a price of €140 EUR (approx. $146 USD).
