Saint Laurent’s Cool Blues Take Center Stage for SS22

Anthony Vaccarello’s ability to reference the Saint Laurent archives has proven to be successful when designing his collections. For Spring/Summer 2022, the house showcased several key items that highlight nostalgia, with a bohemian and blue-hued undertone.
Vintage-style pieces appear in this collection in the form of a blue button-up shirt with enlarged chest pockets – evoking the YSL “Safari Jacket” – and blue high-rise pants. The pants were designed in a “Printed Paisley” silk and a “Heritage” cotton twill. A “Shark-Collar” shirt, a “Heritage” cotton twill overshirt and a logo T-shirt also fill out the luxe vacation-inspired looks.
Emphasizing the brand’s bohemian flair, a pair of “Smith” sneakers in grained leather also make an appearance. The high-top shoe features a white leather upper body covered with a black-and-white fabric swath and trailing fishnet detailing. The outer sole comprises a white rubber with middle-box sections of grey and red, while the collar and inner lining stand out in contrasting black.
