Rick Owens Reveals Collaborative Capsule With Venetian Artist Swampgod
With a focus on upcycling and sustainability.
In an ongoing partnership, Rick Owens has revealed the collaborative capsule collection with Venetian-based artist Swampgod.
In an effort to promote sustainability, and reduce waste generated in product manufacturing, the collaboration focuses on upcycling techniques. Together with Rick Owens, Swampgod aimed to reimagine the brand’s archive by incorporating deadstock fabrics to create contemporary silhouettes for the house. Each piece is composed of deconstructed fabrics and is handmade using the patchwork style to give each clothing article new life by stitching together heritage patterns from the archives.
The capsule maintains Rick Owen’s signature ghoulish silhouette, focusing on the way the clothing flows in movement. Oversized pieces are paired to make for a relaxed fit, a nod to present-day styling trends. The collaborative capsule is officially available now at Rick Owens Tokyo.
