Ralf Rangnick has left Manchester United. The German interim manager has confirmed that he will not be staying following the arrival of former Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag.

In a statement, United said, “We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim manager over the past six months. By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not therefore be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford. We would like to wish Ralf the best of luck in this next chapter of his career.”

Ragnick took temporary charge last year following the departure of former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær in November. He previously agreed with the club to continue in a consultancy role on a two-year deal, and recently took up the role of Austria’s head coach. With the World Cup coming up soon, the manager has said he will not be staying in United due to the demands of his new role.

Elsewhere in sports, Real Madrid defeated Liverpool by 1-0 to win the Champions League.
