Taika Waititi‘s upcoming film in the Star Wars universe could be releasing in 2023.

In a recent interview with Total Film, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy shared that while a release month is not yet confirmed, the Waititi project will most likely hit theaters in late 2023. She added that they are still focused on creating movies in the Star Wars universe that will tie in with the TV series, “As we leave the saga, we have all this great, exciting work happening on the television side that informs so much about where we’re going. We want to be very intentional about that. And we have great talent that we’re working with – people who care so deeply about what the next iteration of Star Wars is and about getting people back into movie theatres, so we can really come out with a bang. That’s important to us.”

Several announcements were made during the Star Wars Celebration event, including news about Ahsoka, The Mandalorian and even Indiana Jones 5.

In other Star Wars news, Tim Meadows may be joining the cast of The Mandalorian season three.
