Nike Hong Kong Announces 'Nike at 50: A Genealogy of Progress' Exhibition
“With every shoe, we got better. With every mistake, we got better.
Nike Hong Kong has just teased its upcoming activation in celebration of 50 years of innovation. Titled Nike at 50: A Genealogy of Progress, the exhibition is fueled by “never done” moments of the sportswear giant where it has set new goals and standards and surpassed them.
The quote from Phil Knight, founder of Nike, “With every shoe, we got better. With every mistake, we got better. And because of that, every athlete got better,” summarizes this retrospective as each transition and learning experience has been placed on a timeline for the public to witness. Broken down into four zones — Nike 50 Moments: Celebrate then, now and the future, Moon Path: the Evolution of Marathon Innovation, Feel the Allure of Air, and Move to Zero Lounge: discovering sustainable design practice — this large experience will not only revisit icons of the Swoosh but also reveal what the next 50 years may hold.
On top of the four zones, six local creatives have been invited to create items for sustainable living spaces. Art pieces can be individually purchased for a charitable cause where all proceeds will go towards Share For Good, a crowd-donation platform by New World Development to support communities in need fighting against the effects of the pandemic.
