Jil Sander Presents a Fresh Take on the Classic Sneaker

Jil Sander expands its minimalist catalog with two new unisex sneakers in white and black.
To create the new offering, co-creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier decided to introduce a fresh take on the classic sneaker. Specifically, the duo maintained the athletic aesthetic while also infusing the silhouette with sharp, yet comfortable design notes.
Featuring a low and mid-top model, the shoes are a nod to basketball silhouettes with paneled and perforated upper detailing, in addition to a thick wheat-colored sole. Staying in line with the brand’s elevated cadence, the shoes are crafted from soft calfskin Nappa leather with inserts of rubberized leather and mesh. Elsewhere on the silhouette is a loop-terry cotton lining and a calfskin insole.
