Closer Look at J Balvin's Air Jordan 2 Collaboration
The Colombian crooner equips the kicks with cloud graphics and glow-in-the-dark soles.
Despite the fact that the Air Jordan 2 has been on the market since 1986, it has never really had a moment in the mainstream of sneaker culture until now. Various collaborators are applying their creative touch to the retro silhouette over the course of 2022, one being globally-recognized music artist J Balvin.
Much like his previous Air Jordan 1 High collaboration, the Colombian crooner decides to go left with his forthcoming team-up by supplying the kicks with playful graphics and textures. Upper halves ditch the traditional leather and opt for a lighter blue ripstop material that features puffed out paneling across the collars and parts of the mid-foot. Cloud graphics are a main element of the shoe as they cover the lower heel overlays as well as the interior lining, and J Balvin’s smiley face insignia lands on the lower rear end. Additionally, his green energy lightning bolt logo makes its way onto the inside of the tongues and the ball-and-wings logos hits and outsoles have glow-in-the-dark capabilities.
The rumor mill states that these will debut to the world in October, but Nike hasn’t released any official information just yet.
