BSTN Pays Tribute to European Basketball With New adidas Forum Collaboration
Honoring hoops powerhouses Panathinaikos and Jugoplastika Split.
The adidas Forum has served as a canvas for many a different collaborator to come in and reimagine this season. We’ve seen the silhouette be whipped up with a candy-inspired makeover by M&Ms and fitted with metallic silver uppers to channel Y2K nightlife by atmos in recent memory, and now BSTN is slated to put its own twist on the Low and Hi models as a tribute to European basketball powerhouses Panathinaikos B.C. and Jugoplastika Split.
Panathinaikos B.C. is known as the most decorated franchise in Greece as it has racked up a record six EuroLeague championships. The signature colors of this team have been translated onto the Forum Low with a simple two-toned execution. Most of the real estate is outfitted with white and gray hues both along the upper and the bottoms while its signature green hue arrives on the tongues, interior lining and the rear midsoles. The Panathinaikos moniker is placed inside the strap windows and its clover logo is debossed into the lateral side.
Its release sibling is an adidas Forum Hi that nods to Jugoplastika Split, the only team to ever win a three-peat in Europe’s premier competition. The club’s moniker is written out in arch-like fashion along the lateral heels and its black and yellow accents are tossed onto the heel panels. “89 90” arrives on the heightened parts of the heels to call out its championship team that had former Croatian NBA player Toni Kukoc on its roster, and the straps are adorned with “Forum 84” branding.
The Forum ’84 Low drops via BSTN and the adidas CONFIRMED app on May 7th, with the Hi following on May 21. The duo will launch globally May 14 and 28.
