Mercedes-Benz‘s EQ division is responsible for the all-electric EQS and many other EVs that fall under the new moniker, but now it has turned its hand to creating a special eBike. Teaming up with n+, Mercedes-Benz collaborated internally with Mercedes-EQ‘s Formula E Team to create the team bike, drawing upon knowledge from road cars and Formula E racers to create one of the sleekest eBikes on the market.

Pictured next to the soon-coming Mercedes-AMG SL 55, the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team eBike shows the beauty of simplicity that is echoed in much of the Mercedes-Benz design language today. Constructed from a lightweight aluminum 6061 frame, the bike has been designed to conceal the batter and power unit for a minimalist aesthetic, eschewing the industry’s standard of external batteries on show.

Similarly, traditional details such as a chain are gone and swapped out in favor of a Gates CDX Carbon Belt Drive, while Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes and Kendra Ks puncture-resistant tires have been fitted to make this the most up-to-date eBike around. Aptly-branded stickers grace the frame and arm, notably sporting one reading “n+ Silver Arrows 02,” while a final touch of LED lights embedded into the frame indicate battery levels.

Take a look at the n+ Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team Silver Arrows eBike in the Matt Ben Stone-shot editorial above, and head over to the n+ website to order one for yourself. The bike retails for $4,500 USD.

Elsewhere, Maserati has announced its plans for an electric future.
