Slam Jam Exclusively Drops Demon's Mysterious SS22 Poyana Range
Referencing everything from prehistoric life to minerals and Dolomitic muscular formations.
Demon was founded in 1963, but when it returned in 2020 under the Creative Direction of Alberto Deon it came with an all-new vision, one which captured the eye of Luca Benini‘s Slam Jam. Now, the Milanese imprint has become the exclusive stockist of Demon’s SS22 line, offering special iterations of the brand’s signature Poyana silhouette.
Inbetween a boot and a sneaker, the Poyana is handcrafted in Italy using hardwearing and tactile materials that help to give the style its utilitarian aesthetic, enhanced by angular shapes found on the heel and profile. For SS22, Demon wanted to elevate the Poyana — “The idea is to use the upper as a canvas on which to lay out the material, left plain and absolute. This enables the visual and tactile qualities to take the stage and tell their story,” said Deon.
As a result, Demon presents the Poyana “Mammut,” a pair evoking prehistoric energy, while the “Quarz” sports a ripstop upper finished with a mottled overlap of suede and reflective treatments. A mineral aesthetic adorns the “Coal Rip-Stop” offering, while the “Reflex” version utilizes its rip-stop upper to the best ability by enhancing it in 3M that reminisces Dolomitic muscular formations and ancient glaciers.
Regardless of the style you opt for, each comes with reflex sock webbing, a rounded toe with eFoam Protection Binding, waterproof double lasting, speed lacing in metal hardware, and a Vibram sole unit. Take a look at the campaign above and shop the range on Slam Jam.
