Moon Knight Promises 'Fight Club' Meets 'Indiana Jones' in New Featurette
Featuring interviews with Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and May Calamawy
Marvel Entertainment has released a new featurette offering a special look into the upcoming movie featuring interviews with Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and May Calamawy.
In Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac plays a character suffering from dissociative identity disorder who’s split between ex-Marine Marc Spector and gift shop worker Steven Grant. Isaac begins the trailer by describing the movie as a real, legitimate character study. Building off the distinct look seen in the comics, “our job was kind of put a lens on the things that had the most dramatic juice and ultimately take the mental health aspect incredibly seriously,” said Isaac.
Director Mohamed Diab reveals that viewers will first learn about Steven and later about the character’s more chaotic half, Marc. “Every aspect of this show has a duality, and we’ve shifted the paradigm,” says Ethan Hawke who plays cult leader Arthur Harrow in the film.
May Calamawy, who portrays Spector’s friend Layla, says, “The tone is like Fight Club meets Indiana Jones. It’s a bit dark at times. To tie it into so vast and supernatural, it’s amazing.”
Watch the special look above featuring new action shots and behind-the-scenes looks, and expect Moon Knight to arrive exclusively at Disney+ on March 30.
